What is the difference between a practitioner and a doctor?

GP-Fully qualified doctor, with specialist training in General Practice. Can prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions. GP can discuss and interpret investigation results in depth.

Practitioner-Nurse/ Paramedic, Trained to Advanced level can assess, diagnose and manage patients independently. All of our practitioners are able to prescribe medications and order all investigations such as MRI scans.

Do you have access and facilities for people with disabilities ?

Yes, our facilities are fully accessible, with a dedicated lift and accessible toilet to ensure all patients can visit comfortably

Why should I pay for private healthcare?

What do I need to bring for my appointment?

Please bring any relevant medical records or prescriptions if applicable.

Do I need to inform my NHS GP about my appointment?

No, you are not required to inform your NHS GP, but you may choose to have PortsMed share any results with them.

How are payments handled?

Payments can be made securely online or in person. We accept major credit/debit cards and offer interest-free payments subject to approval. We offer clear billing and no hidden fees.

Bookings, Policies, and Regulations

Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?

Yes, cancellations made with at least 48 hours' notice are fully refundable. Missed appointments are not eligible for a refund.

Can I change my confirmed booking date?

Yes, if you wish to change your appointment date after confirming your booking, simply give us a call. Please ensure at least 48 hours’ notice is given, or your appointment may not be able to be changed or refunded.

What if I made a mistake while booking?

If you made an error during booking, contact us immediately, and we’ll help correct it as soon as possible.

How is my personal information stored?
